Filling your portfolio from a PDF CV

From thirty minutes to three

A first portfolio is mostly retyping what already exists. If you have a CV as a PDF, the builder can read it and propose the fields for you.

How it works

In the builder, choose Import from a CV. Pick your PDF. A moment later you get a review panel: name, job title, bio, skills and projects, each with a switch.

Turn off anything you do not want, then accept. Nothing is written to your portfolio until you press that button — closing the panel changes nothing.

What we can read, and what we cannot

• The file must be a real PDF, up to 5 MB.
• It must contain text, not a photograph of text. A CV scanned as an image,

or a screenshot exported to PDF, has nothing for us to read — you will get a clear message rather than an empty result.

• Layout does not matter much; two columns and tables are fine.

What happens to what you already have

• Your name, title and bio are replaced only for the fields you left

switched on.

• Skills are added to the ones you already have, up to four in total.
• Projects are appended after your existing ones. Nothing is overwritten.

If the result is not what you wanted, undo in the builder puts everything back.
